Del Worsham was unable to complete a full lap on Saturday in Richmond, shaking the tires during the first run and then experiencing another hard move to the left during his final pass. This time, instead of being able to keep the car off the center line, Worsham's Checker, Schuck's, Kragen Impala moved left so quickly he was unable to avoid running over a top-end timing block, punching a hole in the nose of his monochrome Chevy.

"I can hardly remember the last time I hit a block," Worsham said. "It's doing something weird down there at the top end, and we worked pretty hard today to make sure the car is balanced and pre-loaded right, but it went right out there and did it again. We're lucky I was able to keep it off the center line yesterday, or we would've been in a world of trouble today. To be fair, this could just be a tire-spin thing with the car getting a little out of the groove with one tire, but we've had a hard left move on three runs here, and all three were a little different in terms of tire spin. It could be a strange combination of things, and anything is possible at this point, but we need to figure it out.

"This car really hasn't had a problem like this all year, so it's something mysterious right now. We've already spent a solid 20 minutes studying our video, comparing all three runs where it did this, and we're seeing some things there. What really hurts is that we're not going to know if we got it fixed until we make the lap in round one. We just have to trust ourselves that we'll find the problem and get it fixed."
Worsham will face Jack Beckman in round one. The team will repair the nose of the car tonight, but the decision as to whether the monochrome or red CSK Impala body will be on the car for round one on Sunday morning will be a race-day decision.
