The media attention for Andrew Cowin, driver of the Scott Griffin Motorsports/Serta Mattresses Top Fuel Dragster, has continued to escalate following his first career national event victory at the Suzuki Motor City Nationals in Milan, Mich. three weeks ago.
Cowin, an Australian national driving for the Wilmington, N.C.-based Scott Griffin Motorsports team, is scheduled to appear on the popular syndicated "Big Show with John Boy and Billy" Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7:15 a.m. He will be discussing his first career victory, a finals win over Bobby Lagana, Jr., and anything else that pops up. You never know what to expect on "The Big Show with John Boy and Billy," so be sure to tune in.
Wilmington television station WECT will be sending a camera crew out to the new 21,000 square foot race shop team owner Scott Griffin opened last week to do a television feature on the new facility. WECT Sports Director Bob Bonner is interested in showing Wilmington viewers the high-tech, state of the art shop that is also houses the business offices of Scott Griffin Motorsports. Bonner's crew will be at the shop Aug. 15 at 2 p.m.
"We're getting a lot of attention...winning a race has that effect," Griffin said. "We're excited about increasing the awareness of our unique team as our fan base grows. The John Boy and Billy show is always a lot of fun and Bob Bonner is one of the most respected television journalists in North Carolina. We're looking forward to these appearances."
