An optimistic Wilkerson looks for good things in Dallas

DALLAS, Prerace: Last week, Memphis was a rough outing for Tim Wilkerson and his team. They had the Levi, Ray & Shoup Chevrolet Impala SS Funny Car running well, but it fell short of the competition. The car made four consistent runs, two 4.93's, a 4.95, and a 4.96, and consistency is some of the stuff that makes a good car.

This weekend at the 22nd annual O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex, the always-optimistic Wilkerson looks for his performance to improve and his beautiful hot rod to be in top-notch form.

"I'm confident that it will be good in Dallas," said Wilkerson. "We'll see if we can get the car running the way it should and hopefully it will be just fine."

Wilkerson has always qualified at this event and according to Wilk, this year will be no different. Perhaps the difference this time for the talented tuner/driver and team will that they can keep working and winning the entire day.
