AMS Pro Mod Challenge Heads to St. Louis

MADISON, Ill. - The excitement continues in the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge presented by Tindle Enterprises, Inc. with the second of back-to-back races, this weekend just outside of St. Louis at the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals. Series leader Josh Hernandez is scheduled to attempt the impossible, and series-sponsor Tim Tindle is looking to get his Mustang down the quarter-mile this weekend.

Hernandez and his teammate, Troy Critchley, will be racing on the track and to the airport as they try to tackle two series' events - the AMS Pro Mods and the ADRL Outlaw Extreme Pro Mods at their event in Valdosta Georgia. The World record holders have said they know focus will be key and that Mother Nature will have to cooperate, but they are excited about the possibilities.

Critchley said, "We're looking to perform a miracle, being two places at once, but, we're committed to the AMS series, and Josh has a chance to win the World Finals in ADRL, so, we have to try to make all of that happen."

Tim Tindle is hoping to capitalize on his tuner, Chuck Ford's, experience at Gateway International Raceway - Ford tuned 2004-05 World Champion Mike Ashley to the event win last year in Ashley's only AMS Pro Mod appearance for 2006 season.

Tindle said, "Chuck really is an amazing guy, and he definitely knows how to get cars down this track. I'm looking forward to just relaxing this weekend and enjoying the race - and letting Chuckles work his magic."

On the Northern front, Raymond Commisso, driver of the ‘67 Camaro Pro Mod sponsored by Steelback Beer, is hoping to seal the deal and bring home the teams first win of the 2007 season. The potent Camaro, tuned by Al Billes and built by G-Force Race Cars Inc., has made an amazing string of runs down the track with great consistency and performance, earning the second place in points as they contest their fourth AMS Pro Mod event.

"We have had an awesome year so far," Commisso said. "We were the car to beat at a few races and luck has just not been on our side. I've been behind a little on the tree, and just flat out couldn't see the tree against Doug Palmer in the semi's in Atlanta. That was a horrible way to go down. Like they say, 'you have to find all the ways to lose before you can win'. I hope to pull through for the team this weekend. All of my guys pour their heart and soul into this deal."

Qualifying in the fourth of ten events in the AMS Pro Mod Challenge is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, and eliminations will be contested on Sunday.
