Does anyone have an Am. Ex. air miles card? I'm thinking of getting one & was just wondering how much of a hassle it is to redeem points for tickets?
It says in the tiny type on the back of the app. what you have to do, but what's said & what really happens is not always the same. They are offering 30,000 points for getting a card & I'm kinda thinking using the card for buying most everything then just writing one check a month to pay it off & not carry a balance & get airline miles.

I used my AMEX miles for a ticket from Boston to Hawaii a few years back. I had to reserve the tickets from the airline first, they allowed me to put them on hold for about 20 days. I then had to transfer the AMEX points to my Continental Frequent Flier acct. Then I think after they were in my account I had to call the airline back. Pretty easy.

If you have a B of A account get the Alaska Airlines ATM Visa debit. I average a free flight a year anywhere Alaska flys. I have had the card for about 10 years now. No problems so far when it's come time to redeem miles or book an award flight.

also use a B. of A. 'miles' card.
wife and i use once a year for travel.
call the worldperks # - never had a problem redeeming miles or booking flights;
on any airline. i should add i always book way in advance.

My American Express Business Management card already comes with reward points redeemable for travel. I usually book my flights through AmEx anyway, and if I have I think over 5,000 points, I can get discounts on the tickets.

I use the AmEx Blue Cash card, and getting the cash back is nice. I fly at least 4 times a week so MORE airline miles is the last thing I need, though in the past I had the Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa and earning and redeeming tickets was a breeze.
