man o man i so wish i could be there....i would be in heaven!!!....maybe i'll try to talk Kyle into making the trek out there with the Motown :p

Bill, I 'll be out at Firebird and will stop by and say hello, that is, if you do end up going.

Would enjoy meeting you in the future Paul but I will not be there this weekend. Chassis is in the shop today having some updates performed to bring it up to a 6.00 cert.

I'll be out there. There's a mustang show out at wild horse pass today too. May just head to firebird from there.

October 24-26 - Copperstate Mustang Club presents "Monsoon Madness" Car Show at Wild Horse Pass Casino in Chandler. The show will be a Mustang Club of America National Show

Sorry you can't make it out, there will be other opportunities to meet and maybe even race each other.

Curious, what changes are you making to cert to 6.0? The reason I ask is that I'm going to want to cert my car to 6.0 also.

Thanks,

I was going to head out last night, just to tired... ah well. I hope they make this a regular event.

The show was alot of fun, very well put together with non stop racing in the begining. Cruz's name in the parking lot, Cruz's name in the stands, that who everyone was talking about and rooting for!

We had a huge crash right off the bat right before AA/FC started involving a bracket racer. After a long clean up, and no news other than the rumor of the car rolling down the track, just hoping the driver was ok.

Next up was AA/FC, and shortly into this we had Jason Sanders and his Mr. Explosive scrape the wall at a very high speed, great driving put him back in shape. Later we had Lee Paul Jennings also scraped the wall and got his car back in shape too, both great saves at high speeds!

IN the final was Krabil and Worsham.

We had CIFCA there too, that put on a great show too by the way! There was also an added bonus of great running A/Fuelers in the house. Bill Wayne along with Harry Hustler in the final. Results of the final unknown.

Now heres the confusing part to ME. In a Chicago style racing everyone gets 2 passes the best two in the final. Now it was well after midnight when I headed out to my car and then parked at the timing lights to watch the roofs fly by for the finals. 2 cars came down the track, CIFCA cars, is what I was thinking................but then, 2 more CIFCA cars ran down the track, the announcers voice only a blur. So then here comes what seems like the AA cars final, and Im thinking ok Worsham just won with a 6.02 over a double digit incriment, its a shorter blue roof that Im seeing in the winners lane.
As I pull down the road I hear another car start up, it sure sounded like another FC, and ran a single..........and it was time to head home. So thats it. Mark will have all the results etc on his site soon for the real info.
Id just like to thank Aero Jet for putting on this really great event. It was kinda sad, when the owner started talking, and the PA system started failing, his message lost in the distortion, twice. The PA worked fine for the announcers.....go figure.

Joe Pierce, a usual suspect at Firebird got some recognition at the event too, Grand Marshall, a wally or was his kidding me, I dont know, the PA system isnt always understandable at events. There was a recreation of the Budweiser car on display and the Warren Coburn recreation was also on display.
Kenny Youngblood was at the event also.

The Nitro Funny Car finals didn't go until almost 1:30AM because of a big cleanup during the CIFCA semis; Krabil won and Del got loose; Corey Lee seems to have figured out the magic tuneup for the "GT Pedaler"! Ed Dougan in the "Nitro Psycho" made a single test pass after the AA/FC final round. I left after that. The original "Holy Toledo" on display was really cool too.

Interesting racing, I dont know if it was track prep or the quick cool off when the sun went down but the track sure seemed loose. Two crashes early made me wonder. That falcon wagon got loose and tagged both walls early, then that other car rolled at the finish line soon after. THAT was a bad one.. glad the guy in the nova stopped in time to avoid the other car.

My camera doesnt work at night, I'll try and post up some vid clips later though.

The Tucson race in May was a lot better for the NFCs; the track was much better there. I still hope they give it another shot next year; if they can get the track sorted out, it would be great to have an NFC event where I don't need to pay for a hotel room.

Tough part on that one was that it was a pair of brothers running almost identical cars. Had to scare the other one to see that crash next to you. The other one was WAY worse I thought since it barrel rolled quite a few times. As far as I know everyone walked away... would have been nice if they would have said something over the PA...unless I just couldnt understand them

I think that's Brian Smith's car; I could be wrong though. On a positive note: Corey Lee and Kris Krabil did an outstanding job of getting that Arrow down the track under those conditions.
