ADRL goes to 1,000ft (1 Viewer)

Just saw on fb :

Drag Radial Media has just confirmed with the American Drag Racing League it will be running to the 1000 foot mark in ALL its classes. ADRL owner Larry Jeffers has decided to run the event’s to the 1000 ft mark because it will give all racers a chance to race at their events. He says this will help cut down on changing gear ratios, tune up configurations and all of the challenges crew members face from switching from 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile setups. So stay tuned for more updates and continuing news on what the ADRL has in store. The ADRL’s first race will be at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL on November 4th and 5th, 2016.

So do they not run on any 1/8 mi tracks now? I'm not familiar with this group.

They are reviving the old ADRL started under Kenny Knowling many years ago. Never seen a class like Pro-Mod. It is so able to perpetuate itself, but then again, if you look at the money at the top of the heap in all PM incarnations, it isn't hard to believe. Even back in the ADRL heyday, they ran a good variety of NHRA/IHRA tracks, all 1/4 mile facilities, most National Event host tracks.

Even PDRA now runs a similar schedule. I think every track other than GALOT(revamped Dunn-Benson) is a purpose built 1/4 mile facility.

Galot is a 1/8th mile facility. it's an incredible place and yes it's the old Dunn Benson track.. they wanted to make it 1/4 but the adjacent land owner decided not to sell which would have been needed to make it 1/4 ..
