The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) and its ownership group, Al-Anabi Companies, announced today that ADRL Co-Founder Kenny Nowling will step down as President and CEO effective immediately to take an expanded role in the company’s international development.
As the newly appointed Director of International Development, Nowling will be focusing his skills on building the ADRL's Middle Eastern operations into the same success achieved here in the U.S.
Nowling’s wife Jessica, who has served as the company’s Executive Vice President of Operations for the past five years, will also step down and join Nowling in developing the ADRL internationally.
“First and foremost, Jessica and I want to thank all of the loyal ADRL racers, marketing partners, track partners and fans who have and will continue to support the ADRL,” an emotional Nowling said. “This was, without a doubt, the toughest decision either of us has ever made. However, we are both extremely confident that the individuals who have worked alongside us for the past several years will continue to build upon the success of the ADRL and carry it well into the future.”
Al-Anabi Companies also announced today that it has appointed Tim McAmis to become its new Chief Executive Officer. McAmis is now responsible for overseeing all aspects of Al-Anabi’s United States racing operations, including the ADRL.
The current ADRL executive staff will all remain in place and will continue to operate with the full confidence and support of the ownership.
“I think all the racers, sponsors, track owners and fans of the ADRL will be thrilled that the entire executive management staff will stay in place,” McAmis said. “The ADRL has made tremendous strides in becoming a world-class racing organization and it is a true testament to the teamwork and professionalism of these individuals.
“They have gained the respect of the industry and I am anxious to continue working with them in 2011 and beyond.”
The 2011 ADRL season will begin in March with a full schedule to be released soon.
