this was not paul's first rodeo with the nhra.
IMO he is able to announce over a broad range of sporting events
(ex: the x games) with a forte' in motorsports.

mike dunn needs a female counterpart.
how many ladies are at every race anyways, why not put one in the booth
and keep the camera on her....even when mike is talking
kinda' joking but kinda' not joking, nhra needs every bit of help it can get
for their TV ratings.
(amber gray would be my first selection)

I remember Dave Mac had Shelly Payne before he retired from TV and was replaced by Marty Reid and Cruz replaced Shelly.

Why replace Paul?? He was fine. But i think alan would be a great partner for mike

I will say. I hope Alan uses 2 of his lines;

"Bulbish" and *In Maxwell Smart voice* "Missed it by that much"

Pretty classy of Beckman to give Paul a mention, I don't believe anyone else did, which I don't understand. Kinda weird, no? Having said that, I think Paul was very likeable, and seemed to really love drag racing. Good luck to him in the future.
