4 inch gun explosion

Last night we had a 4 inch artilery mine fail to launch and went off inside the tube. Here is the resulting damage:

Pushed the base plug about 3 inches out of the bottom of the gun:

Holy Crap! That's scary stuff. The three boys and I just came home from the shooting range where we were sighting in our big game rifles and seeing things like this make you really appreciate a good working ordinance.

Thats cool looking. Once a year me and my shooting buddies get together and have some fun. We take 3" pipe just like that and put a product called tannerrite *probably didnt spell it right* in them and mark the outside of the pipe where its at and then get about 100 yards or so away and hit it with different rifles and such. Its an explosive combination. Lots of fun. A half pound charge will make it look like your pic and a whole pound charge will blow it completely in half.

I hunted with my father until I started playing football where the coaches won't let go of you for a day until the season ends. Then my boys started playing and there's a couple decades without a hunting. They are all grown now and we've all decided to hunt deer and elk annually from here on out.

To answer your question, of course! Many of the Boone and Crockett records came out of Arizona including the current World Record so your answer would be . . .
