I've only seen 30 minutes out of Q2 from Pomona on Youtube but think Dave Rieff did a very good job. Smooth, excellent "no prestige" communications with his colleagues, kept the flow, let silence speak in the correct places, let go a a time or two to show his personal like for the sport etc. I liked it.
I'm probably way too picky but low point was whoever it was that sorta congratulated WJ to #13.
Before I watched the show, I was thinking, it will take me time to get used to the change. After the show started, it took me just one minute to get used to Dave Rieff. So far, job well done. Rieff and Dunn are dynamo together.
Not loving all the low camera angles so far...they make the cars look fast but it is really hard to tell how the race is going, even they are great for replays.

Well, if we're giving our grades, Rieff gets an A+ from me! He's long been very knowledgeable about drag racing, from top to bottom and his presentation and enthusiasm for the sport, plus his respect for it overall rate top marks from me.
I have the event on ESPN3 Live. So far Dave has done a GREAT job. Now who was that guy replaced? I have already forgotten him. I will enjoy Dave all season long. I am in love with ESPN3.
I think Dave did a great job. This is the first time in recent memory where no one is tossing the lead announcer under the bus, it is a refreshing change.
For the first time in the last few years...I actually watched all of it and kept the volume on without turning it down when the "other guy" was talking. Man I bet Mike Dunn has to feel relieved today....
Dave has intelligence about the sport, and does not having the mind numbing blandness that PP did. I think between Dunn, Allan, Gary, and Dave...it will get back to the quality that longtime fans are used to. We will never be back to the days of the Diamond P gang...but these guys are pretty close.
