What happened to lane 3 Friday afternoon? Was it just a bald spot. They never announced anything.

Actually, parts of the track began coming up in the lane. Normally, the weak link in the scenario is the glue, but this time it was the racing surface. The NHRA went in with their track specialists and repaired the spots and ran 3-wide until it had time to cure. They went in last night with a stronger solution, so it should be fine for today.
