ITs raining pretty good here in Chatsworth and the doppler show it moving towards Pomona. Audiocast says check back in an hour. Welcome to the Waternationals.

With the current forecast, we can only hope the system moves out so they can get Saturday in.

Greg Rice just called, it started Raining after just 3 pairs of Alky Dragsters, that was an hour ago...

Alky cars to get their first spanking their first session of the season

that can only mean one thing, they are gonna send the remaining alky Dragster's back to the pits so they can get in the pros before curfew,

It's all because of Wayne Darlington's latest thread here on the Mater!

Like they say, "Never take an umbrella to a car race"

Hey...just because I can READ a forecast doesn't mean the I can or CAN'T make it rain.

I also noticed that there never was an actual answer to my question about how the field is set in the first event of the year if rain interrupts full pro qualifying.

JFR_Racing Twitter feed said it's rally coming down now.

This doesn't sound real promising.

3:18 PM...

The "plug" has been officially pulled for today's action at the Winternationals.

Alan just announced that tomorrow's forecast is "iffy".

1 round of qualifying Sunday and race on monday.

if all rounds of q get rained out, then they do it next weekend, if they get 1 full round of Q in... that sets it for Sunday

d'kid

Number 1, But I still can blame you for making it rain! After all, it's still my opinion , and that's all that counts.:D

Number 2, None of us have an OFFICIAL copy of the "In House NHRA Rule Book", but I know from previous events, the bottom line answer to your question is, who's entry was post marked first.

I'm 10 miles East of the track at my daughter's place and it's 10:20 AM here and there hasn't been a bit of blue sky. It's been coming down for a 16 hours here and the forecast says nothing dry today at all. Looks like tomorrow has some hope so I'll go then.

Doc, I'm at the house (2 miles west of you) so I'm in the same rain. I have a few folks at the track now. Should they put any serious effort to try and run anything They will call me. I'll post it here.

The LA TV weather dudes are saying the 2nd (larger/wetter) storm should be here by 1pm. That may make Sat and Sunday a better shot?
