Wow Morgan Lucas lays down an AWESOME pass. Not to be overlooked.. Khalid with a career best 3.76 and can only watch. Of note he left first too.

Looked like he lost a cylinder just past the 1/8. What if it would have held together?

Amazing pass. Track temp 100*, Hole out the last 300 feet.

He ran 3.74 with a 3.01 660 time. In Gainesville he was running 3.74 with a 2.99 660 time. That tells me if they can match the early numbers with that 290 speed, that puts him 3.72 or so.

When Del ran 3.73 last year, I thought that was so far out there, it would not be touched for awhile. I was wrong.... :D

Just something to think about, I crunched Morgan's numbers against Tony Shoe's "The Run," and at Morgan's higher rate of acceleration (142 ft/s/s vs. 138 ft/s/s @ 660') it would have extrapolated to a 4.405 at 340 mph in the 1320!!!

Kalitta's crew ran the numbers on Doug's 4.42 pass a few years back, and determined that at 660', the car was producing 10,200 horsepower. And Lucas' car was significantly faster at 660 feet than Kalitta's.
