Waiting until 3pm to drop the green flag almost guarantees a rain shortened race. Had they started it at 1PM it wouldn't be a problem. 6pm is when rain and thunderstorms are predicted to start in Daytona Beach.

Yes, thanks for posting. I have never seen that perspective of the track before. They sure have what looks like a nice, long shut down area. Also I don't see any development nearby yet. So maybe that track has at least a few more years to go before they have to close.
