2026 IHRA schedule and other info (5 Viewers)

As will many other NHRA teams. 150k is too much money to pass up.
The PDRA will suffer the most. Many of the Pro Mod drivers are planning to pass up their race to go to Maple Grove to race for 100k. Jason Harris, Steve King and Melanie Salemi to name just a few.

i think the ihra has their work cut out for them. memphis is hosting one the the big $$ races? along with
topeka and atlanta on their regular schedule for this calendar year. three facilities that i'm guessing
should have workers on-site at this moment?
will be interesting to watch this year play out, and who will attend, or not attend the (3) big $$ races.
even the ihra regulars in TF and FC, will they all attend the 1000' big money races? are they prepared to let their investment
hang it all out to 1000'? ...... besides paul lee in FC, also see k. wurtzel, shawn reed, and tripp tatum on the TF list
for the first $$ race in reading ....... in FC and TF, it looks like there is $10k paid just to show up? and then an additional
$30k if you make the 8 car field?

that's pretty contradictory. first you say they have their work cut out for them, then you make the point of how much money they are paying out. Makes my point that MANY NHRA regulars will be there. I think NHRA might have their work cut out for them. If this year goes as planned, watch out for next year.
I think it's almost safe to say that IHRA is back. I also think this can only be good for the sport.

randy, what i was referring to is the work needed at topeka, memphis, and atlanta to host the upcoming races. sorry if that didn't come
through. they have the money. not denying that.

Topeka isn't one of the triple crown events. it's Maple grove, Columbus and Memphis. . although I don't see Memphis being ready by years end

Sorry, I mis-understood. Granted they have some work to do. Hopefully it will happen in time.

I think it's almost safe to say that IHRA is back. I also think this can only be good for the sport.

If the NHRA regulars show up, most of the IHRA regulars might as well stay home. That is why they are running IHRA instead of NHRA is the 1/8 mile and it costs less to be competitive. An 8 car field and decent weather the bumps should be low 3.70s in TF and 3.80 ‘s in FC. How many of the current IHRA racers can run that? If the weather is hot and with only two sessions we could see some surprises.

the surprises could be Scott Palmer, Lex Joon and several of the FC's like Del and Dale. Should be interesting.

yes, am aware of that, but the reality is they have these (3) venues on their calendar for this year.

I would have liked to see 1 stipulation added, nitro entries should have to 1 run at least 1 regular IHRA points race to be eligible for Triple Crown races. The regulars are supporting the series, not just the big ones. I’d think the plan is to get racers first, then spectators. Anyway it’s a great deal, looking forward to Columbus in June.
