The Outlaw Fuel Altered Association has released its 2011 racing schedule as the series highly anticipates its thirteenth consecutive season. The OFAA will make its return to Texas Raceway in Kennedale, Texas for the first time since 2007 for the season opener under the lights on Friday night, April 22nd. The series will hold two events at North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas, one in the spring and one in the fall. Of course, you’ll find the series in action at Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, Missouri to headline the Labor Day Weekend Classic for the eighth consecutive season on September 3rd and 4th.
A fresh addition to the 2011 season is the annual Nitro Nationals event at Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma which is one of the biggest nostalgia events in the mid-west each September. A third new addition to the schedule brings the series back to the newly re-named Royal Purple Raceway (formerly Houston Raceway Park) in Baytown, Texas as exhibition headliners for the Super Chevy Show on October 15th. Finally, the OFAA will again close its season at the Texas State Championships at San Antonio Raceway on October 22nd, the final race of three straight in October.
2010 OFAA Champion David Purifoy and the “Thrill Factor” team will be coming out ready to defend their title against a mob of hungry teams all eager to get the racing season started. There will be several new teams added to the OFAA roster as well as the return of Brad Rigler’s “Toxic” and Rich Howell’s “Power Play” altereds. Red hot new comer Jimmy Jones will be in his first full season after advancing to the final round of the last four events of the 2010 season in the “Texas Tremor” altered. With twenty four teams collecting points last season there will be no shortage of racecars as the OFAA heads into 2011. Stay up to date on all the happenings by visiting the website OFAA.NET.
