I had some time to pass today and I was wondering how much different the new rules would have changed last years results. I reset the points and added the bonus points of the top 10 after Reading to match the 08 Countdown (6 Race Countdown) and added the race totals to see the outcomes. Not much of a difference for the most part with Troxel's team benefiting the most.

1 Schumacher 481
2 Dixon 478
3 Fuller 472
4 Bernstein 447
5 Troxel 407
6 Vandergriff 378
7 Herbert 312
8 Todd 293
9 Grubnic 244
10 Bazemore 202

1 Pedregon 481
2 Hight 449
3 Scelzi 391
4 Capps 386
5 Beckman 378
6 Ashley 357
7 Worsham 295
8 Force 211
9 TJ Jr 195
10 Head 183

1 Connolly 641
2 Anderson 584
3 Coughlin 473
4 AJ 344
5 Stevens 326
6 Line 312
7 KJ 298
8 Gaines 280
9 Morgan 253
10 WJ 200

1 Hines 515
2 Smith 506
3 Ellis 458
4 Llewellyn 362
5 Sampey 329
6 Treble 303
7 Stoffer 262
8 Krawiec 244
9 Johnson 238
10 Rivas 162

The way I see it, Connolly and Hines would have benefitted the most as they would have wound up Powerade Champs ...

I'm surprised that Hot Rod would have ended up even lower, I initially thought he would have ended up #1, with the 10 point regular season bonus.

Hey Rick, did you read my first sentence? This was just an FYI post and it provides some clarity of how the system works with real points information.

Now if I did this you'd yell at me to let it go :p

Could you perhaps be weakening on your pro countdown love:eek:

I suppose we then should add how a true season long, may the best driver/car/team/tuner type of scenario would have worked out. Ya know how it used to be before they messed it up:D
