Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Business (Canadian Operations) In Association with the West Coast Pro Modified Association Presents “Fast and Furious on the Fraser”

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO (January 26, 2007) – Eaton Corporation's electrical business (Canadian Operations) has announced the return to Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Columbia with the West Coast Pro Mod Association.

“Fast and Furious on the Fraser”, presented by Eaton’s electrical business, manufacturers of Cutler-Hammer and Powerware brand-products, will be held Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1, 2007.

“All of us at Eaton are thrilled to bring the excitement of West Coast Pro Modified drag racing to the terrific fans in British Columbia,” said Paul Tlustos, Marketing Communications Manager for Eaton’s electrical business (Canadian Operations). “Eaton is also extremely pleased to work with and support the hard efforts of the West Coast Pro Modified Association to bring the best in Pro Modified racing to Mission Raceway once again,” he added.

“Our staff, distributors, and customers are thrilled to hear of our return to Mission Raceway,” he went on to say. “British Columbia is an important part of Eaton’s marketing efforts and this is a terrific way for us to reward customers loyal to the Cutler-Hammer and Powerware brands. It’s also a terrific way to introduce those not familiar with Eaton products to our business.”

Mission Raceway’s favorable sea level altitude, new track surface and serene setting nestled amongst Canada’s Rocky Mountains is considered one of North America’s premiere drag racing locations. Mission Raceway Park has been the scene of many astonishing Pro Modified runs including many driver personal ET’s and MPH bests.

“British Columbia is beautiful, the fans at Mission are great, and the sea level altitude makes for excellent performance,” said Carl Spiering, driver of the Eaton Pro Modified Supercharged 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. “We set our personal best performance at Mission last year with a 6.03-second, 235.91mph pass setting low ET time the last time we competed there.”

It’s also a great opportunity for teams to compete in a WCPMA event and test in advance of the IHRA’s eMax Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series the following weekend in Edmonton, Alberta,” explained Joe Delehay, WCPMA Board Director and defending 2006 WCPMA Champion.

Mission Raceway Park, Mission Raceway Park Homepage located on the Fraser River east of Vancouver, is owned and operated by the British Columbia Custom Car Association, Canada's oldest rod and custom car club established in 1952.

West Coast Pro Mod Association

The West Coast Pro Mod Association features the quickest Pro Modified Drag Race Doorslammers on the Western half of North America. The rules are the same as IHRA for Pro Modified. This makes for extremely close and very exciting racing at each of the tracks where the WCPMA events are held. WCPMA cars frequently cover the quarter mile in under 6.4 seconds at speeds over 220 mph. The cars feature body styles which are recognizable to spectators as they closely resemble factory muscle cars which are self starting and feature functional doors. The WCPMA was formed approximately 8 years ago when the need for organized Pro Modified Racing on the West Coast was a necessity. The racing series is held at many tracks in Western USA and Canada and include Racetracks in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, California, Arizona, British Columbia and Alberta.
