Pleasanton, CA – After a recent trip to Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho for the 39th annual Nightfire Nationals, the Goodguys Racing team led by Marc Meadors can look forward with optimism after qualifying 7th in the quickest Pro Mod field in event history. Racing for the first time at hi-altitude (5,500 feet) Meadors was able to take the big blown silver Camaro to a best run of 6.33 landing him in the seventh spot when qualifying was finished. Brett Williamson’s 6.09 led the field. With that 7th seed in qualifying, the Goodguys team had to race #2 qualifier John Scialpi in Sunday’s eliminations. After one of his cat-like reaction times, Meadors gained an early advantage in the race but couldn’t hold off Sciapli’s blue & white ’57...
Sacramento, Ca – The Don Carter Motorsports team, with Bret Williamson driving the ’53 Studebaker, wrapped up the 2010 West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Associations (WCOPMA) points championship with their win last weekend at Bandimere Speedway during the Super Chevy Show event, an event the WCOPMA was booked in to headline for Bandimere Speedway. Going into the Denver event, all that was needed for the team was for Williamson to qualify anywhere in the 8-car field and the championship was theirs…but like the team has done all season long they were set to run hard and not take it “easy” with a main goal to make it to yet another final round and win another event this 2010 season. During testing on Friday it was relevant that they had...

(8-29-2010) San Diego, Ca – Dan Myers recently completed the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association’s version of a “western swing” last weekend with his attendance at Bandimere Speedway during a Super Chevy Show event which the WCOPMA were booked in to headline. On the first qualifying pass Dan made it down the track, in the 9,000+ feet of corrected elevation, with a 6.68 on an early lifting run. He had to abort the run around the 1,000 foot mark as one of the welds on his dry sump oil tank split and put all the oil onto the track and shutoff area, in the process a piston was burnt and some other engine parts were hurt. The team had to weld the oil tank and fix the engine between qualifying rounds and failed to make the call for the...

BUDDS CREEK, Md. With a destroyed car and seemingly no hope of repair by the season’s second race in Baton Rouge, the Floch family found themselves carefully weighing their options as to what to do next. Then came a miracle. Dozens of racers from across the country came to their aid, lending parts, cash and support to help get the “Bullet Bob” machine back on the track. Now, exactly seven months after that fiery accident and the...
