CONCORD, N.C. (April 25, 2026) – – Shawn Langdon is the No. 1 qualifier for Sunday’s NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway outside Charlotte. The race broadcast is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26 on FS1.

The Kalitta Air Careers Top Fuel team made its quickest qualifying attempt during the Friday-evening session, but Langdon was also quickest Friday afternoon. In the opening round, Langdon’s 3.760-second pass at 336.15 mph put him atop the standings; His 3.674-second effort at 339.19 mph in the evening session further cemented his place atop the field.

With warmer conditions today, Langdon’s time held up through Saturday’s qualifying sessions. It was Langdon’s second No. 1 qualifier in the season’s first four races and the 24th of his career.

“We made really, really good runs in three of the four qualifying attempts, and the Kalitta Air Careers car is responding well to the things we’re asking it to do,” Langdon said. “Brian (Crew Chief Brian Husen) is making the right calls, and the guys are doing a great job putting the car together. Everything’s just kind of clicking right now. We’re doing what the car is showing us, and it’s making some really good laps. We’re just kind of riding that wave of letting the car be a little forgiving and trying to apply as much as we can to it.”

Langdon will open Sunday’s four-wide eliminations against No. 16 qualifier Dan Mercier, No. 8 Spencer Massey and No. 9 Jasmine Salinas. Points leader Doug Kalitta is the No. 3 qualifier; his opening quad includes No. 14 Maddie Gordon, No. 6 Antron Brown and No. 11 Clay Millican. In Funny Car, J.R. Todd is the No. 4 qualifier. His opening quad includes No. 5 Alexis DeJoria, No. 12 Hunter Green and No. 13 Jeff Arend.
