[coverattach=1]First-round win at Norwalk gives Gann encouragement for Bandimere

Morrison, Colo. – A reaction time of .013 gave Shawn Gann and the XTreme Rebellion/RumBum team a much-needed round win in Norwalk, but a blown engine in Gann’s Buell eliminated their hopes of advancing any further. They went on to lose to Angie McBride in the second round, but moved up one spot to eighth in the NHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock Motorcycle points standings, keeping Gann in contention for the Countdown to 1 in his class.

This weekend, Gann takes his XTreme Rebellion/RumBum Buell to Bandimere Speedway and the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals where he hopes to continue to earn round wins as well as solidify his top-ten points standing.

“(Bandimere) is off the damn hook!” said an excited Gann in preparation for this weekend’s event. “I love Denver. (It’s) a real tuner’s race. You don’t necessarily have to have to the fastest vehicle there to win. Again, it goes back to the driver and I love stuff like that.”

Gann and the rest of the NHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock Motorcycle class qualify for Sunday’s eliminations for the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals Friday at 4:45 p.m. MST and again at 7:15 p.m. Saturday’s qualifying for the bikes is scheduled to start at 3:45 p.m. with the second round starting at 7:15 p.m. Sunday’s eliminations begin at Noon.

For more information about the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway, visit them on the Web at Bandimere.com. Event qualifying can be seen on ESPN2 Saturday at 10 p.m. EST. Eliminations air at 7 p.m. EST Sunday and will re-air Wednesday, July 15, at 1 a.m. EST. The race can be heard via live streaming Sunday at NHRA.com.
