This is VERY cool. I LOVE Bonneville type speed running. I hope to make it out there some day during the time trials.

Best of luck to Doug and Chet on this project.

I remember being in Chet's shop a few years ago when he and Spike Gorr were putting together a Bonneville car... Odd configuration of 3 tires out front and one in the rear..

Seems that kind of stuff gets in the vein pretty deep- good for Chet and Doug. :)

I read this article in the Charlotte Observer last week. Good deal. Staff Writer David Poole has done a great job keeping "circletrack-ville" update on Doug, the NHRA, and the IHRA visits to Rockingham.

The article didn't say it, but those Viper V10's will also have ProCharger centrifigal superchargers on them.

Anybody know why they picked Viper V10's as the power plants?

I seems like it would be easier and cheaper to use engines with more aftermarket support (ie big block chevy or chrysler hemi), but maybe the V10's have been developed more than I realize.

Especially when Chet has that burly Chevy Hemi to play with... Hmmm
