WITH ONLY ONE SESSION COMPLETED AT SEATTLE , FULLER FINISHES 14TH

KENT, Wash. (July 21, 2007) – Top Fuel points leader Rod Fuller posted his lowest qualifying position of the 2007 season Saturday at Pacific Raceways, 14th. The five-time NHRA winner made only one attempt at the Pacific Raceways quarter mile in his all-white David Powers-owned dragster as persistent rain showers canceled the final qualifying session.

After Mother Nature forced NHRA officials to cancel all of Friday’s racing action, the NHRA pros got one try at the tricky Pacific Raceways track on Saturday afternoon. The five-time NHRA Top Fuel winner raced his plain white dragster to a run of 6.153 seconds at 283.07 mph after losing traction early on the run. It placed him 14th in the 16-car order. The lowest he has qualified this year is fourth. He has earned three poles, Atlanta , St. Louis and Norwalk .

“No. 14 isn’t familiar territory for us,” Fuller said. “Only having one run, we had to pedal the car to make sure we were in the show. It feels good to help out the team. You can't win if you’re not it. I’m sure we’ll be ready for race day.”

Fuller will face off against No. 3 qualifier Clay Millican in the first round of Top Fuel eliminations at 11 a.m. (PT) on Sunday. Fuller is 5-2 in his career versus the six-time IHRA champion. ESPN2 will televise three hours of final eliminations coverage from the Schuck’s Auto Supply Nationals at 7 p.m. (ET) on Sunday evening.
