Who's In the Cornwell FC (26 Viewers)

I’ve heard Bobby Bode’s name tossed around by some people and I think that’s an interesting one, he does check a lot of boxes.

From listening to her interviews, it sounds like Ida prefers dragsters and hasn't driven a FC yet. I'm pretty sure someone with lots of FC experience will be in the Cornwell car.

Honestly in an effort to decode the cryptic message we need to look at what owners/teams other than JFR has had a variety of drivers not necessarily a two car team. Jim Dunn, DSR, TSR, SCAG, JCM, Kalitta and Jim Head to name a few.

Until Shawn Reed got hurt, the only recent major injuries were in the funny cars…I would steer my daughter away from them if I had a choice. And a daughter. And the money for nitro racing….

It also doesn't say that they raced for the same team owner during the same period of time.

Also, what about Del and Alexis??? I've been hearing it for a month now that Alexis is moving her team to JFR. We shall know soon enough.

It also says "Veteran Drivers", so who does that leave? Del, TJ, Burkhart, Arend, Cory Mac, Sarge, who else??? I don't see Scelsi or Bazemore driving again???

Since the Cornwell Tools F/C appears to still be fully funded, then the new driver wouldn't need to bring funding. I still like the idea of a somewhat younger driver getting the seat, such as Jorden Vandergriff. I also like Krista Baldwin. Yes, she is mid-to-late 30's, I think, but she has such genuine enthusiasm for the sport. Whenever she ran a good qualifying time in her Top Fueler, or occasionally won a round, she was so thrilled and it really showed in her top end interviews. She still has a such a girlish enthusiasm just for being out there, and she does not seem to have an entitled attitude. I think she would be great as a Force driver and also good with the fans. Yes, not a "Veteran" driver, but neither was Austin Prock, and he did fine. I bet Krista and Alexis would make great teammates at Force.

And having Krista (The Greekette) on board is also a tip of the hat to the history of the sport (The Greek, you know). See picture of Krista I took at the CA Hot Rod Reunion in 2015. Note the lettering on the cowl: "Our Driver Wears Lipstick!". Now that's fun!

Don't let the term "fully funded" fool you into thinking the new driver isn't expected to bring cash along for the operation. Is any top level fuel car ever truly fully funded??
