Redding, Ca – Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho will be the starting point for the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association this 2011 season. The season will kick off on the weekend of June 24-25 at Firebird Raceways “Famous Fox Hunt” event. From there the group will travel to Champion Raceway in Medford, Oregon the following weekend (July 1-2) to compete at the second stop on the 6-race schedule for the tracks 5th annual “Nitro Nite of Fire” event.
The third stop on the schedule comes just two weeks after Medford and it will be at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California during the NHRA Division 7 event. Many racers are looking forward to this event in particular and taking advantage of the great track and awesome weather conditions as the track elevation is less than 100 feet above sea level.
There will be another two week break after Infineon, and then it will be the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association’s version of a “western swing” going back to Firebird Raceway for the second time in 2011, this time running at the 40th annual “Nightfire Nationals” event on August 11-14; undoubtedly one of the biggest independent event’s on the west coast.
The weekend after Boise the association will head to Bandimere Speedway in Denver, Colorado to headline at the Super Chevy Show event on August 19-21. Last year, the Nightfire Nationals event in Boise and the Super Chevy Show event in Denver were also on back-to-back weekends and it worked out nicely for the racers as they (or their crew) traveled straight from Boise to Denver.
The WCOPMA season will conclude at Champion Raceway in Medford, Oregon at the NHRA Division 6 event on September 9-11. This will be the association’s second stop at Champion Raceway for the 2011 season.
