LAS Vegas, NV – Gunslingers’ like to carry enough ammunition to get the job done. The shrewd assassin has to work with the resources they have. In this case, 801 Racing’s hired gun, Cody Perkins is headed to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for regional action with only one bullet. Having wounded some parts at the Phoenix regional, Perkins only has one complete motor.

“The door is up, and we are headed to Vegas,” said Perkins. “I packed a musket, not a machine gun.”

Perkins will be relying upon 801 Racing’s 70W Racing Oil to keep things in place. Perkins and his family based crew will also rely upon their ability to conserve parts and still blister the quarter mile. This is not something new for the Utah based race team. Last year Perkins won the Topeka Summernationas in Top Alcohol Dragster with only eight pistons. In fact, those eight pistons stayed in the engine for quite a while. So it can be done, and Perkins and his Team are the ones to do it.

“I have a car that'll launch harder than any other out there,” added Perkins. “I just don't have the money to push it out the back door. “

There is another dual that Perkins has to deal with. The points chase to see who will represent Division 7 at the Jeg’s All-Star competition is up for grabs. Perkins is still in the running, so going rounds at this regional event is critical. This will be the last opportunity to honor the west at the Chicago race later this year.

“It would really be something special to be the last representative from the old Division 7 series,” said Perkins. “There are some heavy hitters here, so we are going to have to be on our game.”

Keeping Perkins gunning for the competition is steam cleaning and washing company Inesco/Steamco. Their support, along with 801 Racing, allows Perkins to not only keep his musket (racecar) clean, but protected from pesky varmints. The dual in the desert is set. The outlaws are lurking in the shadows, gunning for an easy target. Gunslinger Cody “Flash” Perkins is working to make sure his last bullet lasts for quite awhile, and goes fast enough to make sure he’s the last one standing at the Vegas OK corral.

We believe true happiness comes from blazing down the blacktop with the pedal to the metal and our hair on fire. The whiter our knuckles get, the better. If it were up to us, cars wouldn't even have brakes, just two gas pedals. It's this never-ending need for speed that drives everything we do. We spend countless hours in the lab and lying awake at night plotting and planning how to get more speed by any means possible. After decades of research and innovation, we've developed a complete line of performance and car care products designed to ensure that your ride lives up to its potential on the street and on the track. We know what you want. We got what you need. We are 801 Racing. For more information on 801 racing, please visit: 801 RACING
