It was a stroke of luck. Our scheduled jet team canceled after a crash and we couldn't find a replacement for a featured car to close the event. With posters up, stories in the paper, billboards, ads on the radio I was a stress case. Even Ed the Outlaw Jones was calling around to help me find someone to fill in. (BTW what a super guy he is).
Anyway, I went home for lunch hoping to hear some good news. Well, it turned out there was a message from Twig Zeigler who called about having some work done and would be coming through the area. Before I could even start begging he said he would do it! So instead of a jet we will have a nitro funny car fire up after dark.
