TUNE IN NEXT TIME!

(5-29-2007) TULSA, OK – Regardless of his stellar qualifying efforts, #5 of 21 entered, Danny Rowe couldn’t stop the inevitable rain storm that arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma about the same time as the racers.

“We brought our A-game to Tulsa, like always, but it just wasn’t meant to be,” explained Rowe. “It wasn’t looking good, weather wise, going into the event and there’s nothing we can do about the weather.”

Despite several rain delays and efforts to dry the racing surface on both Friday and Saturday, all three rounds of qualifying for the professional categories. Sunday, though, wasn’t as forgiving to the racers and fans on hand.

“Sunday morning it was pouring rain and there was no end in sight. The weather forecast didn’t show the precipitation stopping until late in the week, so we were out of luck. It wasn’t all bad as we successfully debuted the new Camaro in qualifying and did well for our new sponsor Permatex. I think we’re doing fantastic with our new program; at the end of the day we just want to run well and go rounds for our sponsors. We’re looking forward to the make-up event and will be ready when the time comes.”

The Sooner Nationals will return to Tulsa and final eliminations will be run on Saturday, June 23. The professional fields are set and there will be no entries allowed. All advance tickets that were purchased for Sunday will be honored on the make-up date.
