Yes i did i was standing right behind it. We are gonna try and run a low 6.0 in the morning if the track will take it. Denny needs one more pass over 220 to get His alky License. Oh by the way be sure to stop by and say Hi and Happy Birthday to him . He turned 60 thursday.

Thanks Lyle! You guys don't need no stinkin' 6.0 - tell Denny to stand on it and run a five! - :D
And . . . let Carolyn know 9th ain't too shabby!
Congratulations to one of the nicest group of racers you will ever meet.

I watched it! This entire field is awesome! I'm quickly becoming a fan of Top Dragster and Top Sportsman after yesterday. This beats the ever-loving heck out of the super classes in my opinion.

Lyle, I talked to Denny yesterday but didn't know about his birthday. Please wish him a great belated one from the Wannabe Gang. Oh, and tell Denny we're rooting for him to win this thing. It's always fun to see the quicker cars win these classes.

Great meeting you Bobby! Hopefully next time I won't smell like roasted transmission!

There is an ongoing discussion by actual TD racers about how NHRA is not allowing cars run below 6.00, here is a link to insidefastbrackets, another one of Will Hanna's great sites.

Btw, my car is set to run TD and I welcome the limitation, without it, there will be only sub 6.00 car fields soon enough.

And Joe, the rules for TD and TS are in the 2009 NHRA rulebook where it states:

Requirements and specifications for Top Sportsmen are the same as those for Advanced E.T. - Section 4B - with the following exceptions.

Requirements and specifications for Top Dragster are the same as those for Top Sportsmen- Section 4C - with the following exceptions.

Neither class has an exception for the Advanced E.T.limitation sub 6.00 runs.

If Denny runs a sub 6 second pass, per rulebook, it should be thrown out.

Paul, isn't advanced E.T. 7.50 or quicker?

I think the only stipulation is that the car has to have a poweglide. One car ran a 5 with a powerglide last year in top eliminator west.

Joe, the rulebook states it as 6.00 to 7.49.

Rich, the rules for TD transmission is the same as TS:

Any transmission maybe used, however, vehicle must employ positive system to disengage from final drive.

How the hell do you even try to come up with a dial-in for something like that in eliminations? :D
dial in a 6.07....and drive the top end :) you gotta know the other guy is going to keep their foot in it.

Those numbers are just sick. And according to rules anything quicker than 6.00 will require licence upgrade. 3a is down to 6.00. Thats what mine is.

He just ran a 6.075 @ 223.73 MPH!:D

Twelve cars in the sixes!!

Hey guys I'm a fan of TD a well, and I saw in the line-up a guy from Tucson named Vito Anderson with a Chevy Undercover car. When I lived out there I helped a guy named Vito Adragna from Tucson on occasion, at the time I believe it was Super Eliminator, a 7.90 index. Anyway, any of you Arizonians know Vito, and if he's still racing? BTW, I also helped out his brother Danny Adragna with his TAD at a points meet at Firebird, I think in '97. Real nice guys.
