<p>(10-12-08)Mocksville, NC - In a race unique to O'Reilly Farmington Dragway's normal program, fans turned out heavily to enjoy yesterday's open field Quick-8, featuring nitrous as well as blower car entries. Fan appeal and performance combos were diverse, and with weather as close to perfect as you can imagine, Farmington's special event didn't disappoint. In the end, Todd Tutterow was victorious over Dale Brinsfield.

Fans came out of their seats in the opening round of qualifying when Todd Tutterow guided his C-5 Corvette down Farmington's concrete lane, posting a 200mph lap across the scoreboard. Tutterow's 3.923 instantly shot him to the top of the qualifying sheet, lowering that time to a 3.922 @ 199mph in round two.

Tutterow fought the combination of this car early on, but has turned a major corner of performance and consistency, winning the event last night at Farmington, while becoming the second man behind Jason Scruggs to ever record a 200mph time slip in 1/8 mile Pro Mod competition.

Tutterow's latest race car, a product of St. Louis, Missouri's Larry Jeffers was actually built as Jeffers' own personal car with a hired driver. Within 6-8 laps on the car, however, the deal fell through. At the same time, Tutterow, who shocked many with the surprise selling of his championship-winning Willys was looking for another ride. "I was wanting to buy a brand new car, but the wait was 6 months at best," says Tutterow, who then learned of the Corvette and quickly made a move to acquire it. "Larry Jeffers builds a good fast car that's reasonably priced," commented Tutterow.

Tutterow, a 7-time champion of the Quick-8 Racers Association has many wins to his credit at his backyard drag strip, even though he doesn't frequent the facility as often as he did in years past. "Since switching to a blower there's not as many opportunities to race at Farmington, but hopefully there will be more of these open field races in the future," says Tutterow.

With the season winding down in the southeast, Tutterow is considering parking his Corvette and freshening his combination for 2009. With his tuning services always in high demand, Tutterow has several months worth of travel plans scheduled.
