<P> (8/21/08) Harrison Twp., MI – The Gatorz Eyewear Ohio Drags will mark Todd Robertson's first foray into the world of ADRL Pro Extreme. Robertson who competes regularly in the Aeroquip Heads Up Series at Milan Dragway is eager to line up against some of the best outlaw door slammers on the planet.
"The heads up series at Milan provides us with some very tough competition but nothing like we're preparing for this weekend. These are the best eighth mile racers on the planet and I can't wait to run side by side with them, but with this being our first run with the ADRL we're preparing ourselves for a steep learning curve," said Team Owner/Driver Todd Robertson.
Robertson will be bringing his 06 Supercharged Chevy Cobalt to the Friday and Saturday night battle. The American Drag Racing League or ADRL can best be described as drag racing meets wrestling meets rocket science. With both cars and crews buying into the motor sports entertainment aspect of the ADRL and with eighth mile times regularly in the sub four-second range at near and above 200 miles per hour Robertson's crew chief, Rocco Wilson is feeling a bit of pressure. " I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel any pressure going into this event. I'm confident in our team and our abilities but lining up against the likes of a Jason Scruggs, Josh Hernandez or a Bubba Stanton, especially for the first time can be a little nerve racking," said Wilson.
With a record crowd expected for the event Robertson is looking forward to the experience. "The ADRL has broken attendance records almost everywhere it has its' events. Earlier this year at the Houston event over 41,000 fans attended on Saturday alone. I know the fans in this area of the country are just as rabid about their drag racing and I'm happy to be a small part of the ADRL experience this weekends," said Robertson.
The second annual Gatorz Ohio Drags will be held Friday August 22nd and Saturday August 23rd at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. For more information on the ADRL go to: ADRL.us :: Home.
