BRISTOL, Tenn. – Tim Tindle is excited about coming to Bristol Dragway and is even more anxious than usual about taking part in the July 6-8 O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Q. He is looking to add a second national event title to his AMS Promod Challenge Resume, presented by Tindle Enterprises.
Tindle earned his first national event win defeating Jay Payne in the final round during ProCare RX Super Nationals at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. This marks the 4th straight career win at Englishtown for crew chief Chuck Ford. In the finals, Tindle turned in a 6.02, 239 mph in the T.A.R.E. (Tindle-Ashley Racing Enterprises) GT 500 Mustang to earn the win over Payne who fouled at the tree.
"That was a big win in New Jersey and my team needed it," Tindle said. "We have been working all year long to get this stang in the winner's circle, and Englishtown was a testimony that Chuck Ford and the guys can make it happen."
In the semis, Tindle defeated points leader Joshua Hernandez, who was undefeated for the 2007 season. Tindle had a hole-shot reaction and never looked back, running a 6.034 , 236 mph to defeat Hernandez' 6.03, 243.
The O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals kick off July 6 with a spectacular day of action that will feature two rounds of AMS Promod qualifying, one under the lights that evening. A fireworks show will follow the action that night with one more rounds of qualifying on tap on July 7 and then first round. The All-American Celebration Fan Appreciation Party takes place on Saturday after first round and features live music, driver autographs and free food.
