ATLANTA, Ga. – Tim Tindle, driver of the Tindle Enterprises GT 500 Mustang, is looking forward to competing in Atlanta. The team didn't enjoy much success in the first two AMS Promod Challenge events, but Promod Driver Tindle and the T.A.R.E. (Tindle-Ashley Racing Enterprises) team are hoping to climb to the upper stratum of the AMS standings when they head over for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals this weekend at Atlanta Dragway.
"We are looking for that first win, so maybe it will be at Atlanta. If not, then maybe in Madison, IL the following week," said Tindle who qualified second at the O'Reilly Spring Nationals, Houston, TX. I have never raced at Atlanta Dragway, but definitely looking forward to all of these tracks that I have never ever been to. The plan is to qualify well and focus on one round at a time. We feel that we have one of the top cars in the class so we plan to keep the momentum going."
This is Tindle's first year of promod competition and the rookie driver is getting the hang of the driver's seat. In Houston, the Santa Rosa Beach, FL based racer qualified second after a rainy weekend and turned it -.002 red against Bryan Seward second round. "The red light in Houston is something we definitely didn't need, but I am getting more comfortable each time I sit down in the seat. Chuck Ford is a good teacher and I believe that he will coach me to a championship," said Tindle
The Atlanta event is the 3rd of 10 events for the 2007 tour. The next stop on the NHRA AMS Pro Mod Challenge tour is the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals, St. Louis, May 4 – 6, 2007
