’FALLON, MO (July 11, 2011) – New doors continue to be opened for Top Sportsman racers in the American Drag Racing League (ADRL).
The world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league announced on Monday that ADRL sponsor Tim McAmis Performance Parts will be offering a new Top Sportsman No. 1 Qualifier Program.
The low qualifier program will award the top qualifier in Top Sportsman $500 at each of the final five events during the 2011 season.
This exciting incentive will begin at this weekend’s Ford Drive One Summer Drags VII, which is the fifth of ninth stop on the 2011 ADRL Tour and takes place from U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich.
"Since the ADRL brought on the Top Sportsman series, we thought it would be fitting for these drivers to have a low qualifier bonus program as well, so Tim McAmis Performance Parts is picking up the low qualifier bonus for the Top Sportsman program for the next five races," Tim McAmis Performance Parts Owner Tim McAmis said.
“We are just as thrilled as the ADRL to see these talented teams performing and we wanted to present another opportunity for them to showcase their talents.”
One of the most popular full-bodied classes in drag racing, Top Sportsman racing continues to grow at a considerable rate in the ADRL.
After four-car and six-car exhibitions were held earlier this year, Top Sportsman was recently named the seventh official class in the ADRL (joining Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragster).
The Top Sportsman class immediately received strong praise and a terrific response from fans and ADRL officials, and the institution of a low qualifier program will now add even more incentive for the talented drivers and teams in the division.
“Since we’ve introduced the Top Sportsman class in the ADRL, we’ve been blown away with the response from the racers and the fans who have enjoyed watching these first-class cars perform at a high level,” ADRL Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Brian Evans said.
“For Tim McAmis Performance Parts to step up and offer this No. 1 qualifier program, it’s a wonderful thing for this class. Its growth has been remarkable and this program will only add to that.”
