I assume NHRA decided back when the 07 schedule was drawn up that a three week gap may be a
good idea in case any races need "made up" due to rainout, etc.
I just seems if you are creating/hyping this chase , countdown, whatever , (to gain new popularity)
you don`t give your newfound audience a sizeable lull in the action.
We know the long time dedicated viewers/fans will be waiting for the action to resume,
just don`t think the casual viewer will have any desire to remember when the next race is and/or wait it out.

I'm at that point NOW... Still have Nitro in the nose... funny thing is, ears aren't ringing... first time in years...

thats a sign that you're goin deaf Karl :p

at least i get to go play with a funny car next weekend

Vegas was originally planned to be two weeks after Richmond, but that moved the Vegas date off the SEMA Show dates and the track wanted to stay on the same week as SEMA because that boosts attendance. That still would have left a week between Vegas and Pomona, but Pomona moved up this year, so the two are now back-to-back.
