[coverattach=1](3-18-09) Mocksville, NC - The world famous Quick 8-Pro Mods will attack the Don Plemmons-owned all concrete 1/8th mile Farmington Dragway this coming weekend March 20 and 21. This will make their 20th consecutive year of racing at the FARM, under the leadership and guidance of Plemmons for the Quick 8 Racers Association and Pro Mods. The Quick 8-Pro Mods will be included in the rained out IHRA Summit Pro Am race from last weekend. This will make it the best race for the money this young season, with 3 second, 180 MPH Quick 8 DOORSLAMMERS and the very best IHRA has to offer in TOP Sportsman, TOP Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod this will make for one heck of an action packed weekend of racing Farm. Leading the attack will be two time Q8RA champion Buzz Varner of Graham, NC is his DP Racing owned 104/WTQR, O’Reilly’s, Bill Plemmons RV sponsored Corvette. Buzz, a long time Quick 8 member will have his hands full with local Pro Mod standout Steve Vick of Mocksville, NC is his new Allan Pittman build ’68 Camaro. Look out for former Q8RA champion and ADRL standout Randy Weatherford of Providence, NC is his new Bickel built ’68 and Buck power. Steve and Randy have been testing their ultra light entries in readiness for the Farm’s season opener. Don’t forget about the Ford Williams boys and driver Dale Brinsfield in their ’08 Ford Mustang. The veteran Brinsfield scored car owner Jerry Williams a win last year at the Farm. West Virginia’s Kenny Rucker will have his Nitro Jam Wild Willys ready for this first race, along with Mr. RPM Thomas Dunsford. The Fulton powered “Death Dealer” Camaro of Dunford is long overdue for his first Q8RA win at the Farm. Three time Q8RA champion Ken Regenthal has revamped his familiar “Carolina Hooker” over the winter and maybe ready for the season opener. So, the three second barrier should be broken several times with all these nitrous fed entries and even more. So if you love fast, on the edge Quick 8 doorcar action then Farmington is where you need to be this coming weekend.

Everything gets underway on Friday with Test-N-Tune for IHRA and regular Friday night racers. There will be a round of Quick 8- Pro Mod Qualifying later that night around 6 PM. Saturday will be the race day for the Quick 8-Pro Modified, with two rounds of qualifying at 12 noon and 3:30 PM and final elimination’s beginning at 5 PM. Mixed in between will be time runs, qualifying and record runs for all the seven IHRA classes, with Combo races starting at 4 PM for them. This all leads up to the action packed run for the gold and iron man on Sunday for TOP Sportsman, TOP Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod classes.
