Thacker Earns Win at National City Thunder Nationals

Marty Thacker and the Rapid Transit Race Team were in Martin, Michigan at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park this past weekend where they earned the win against some very tough competitors and Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels teammates. The Team unloaded their Top Alcohol Dragster and qualified number one for the event with a 5.47 at 263 MPH.

"It was a good weekend for us. Last year, we made it to the final before it got rained out and this year we won the race. The staff at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park did a really good job putting on the event, including prepping the track for competition," said Thacker.

In first round, the Team improved on their qualifying run with a 5.44 at 260 MPH and earned the win light at the other end. At about 10 PM, they were ready to run the final round. Thacker was first out of the gate and ran a 5.51, while skating all over the track, and was able to hold off his competition and take the win.

"What a great event! The stands were packed, the car ran well, and the weather was perfect. I don't think we could ask for much better. It was also nice to hang out with Evan and the rest of the Knoll Gas -Torco Racing Fuels gang for the day. We can't wait to come back next year."
