First of all congrats to JL on his 5th win of the season and how about the summit guys racing straight up !! ..... think about it, had Jason laid down for greg and greg went on to win, he would only be a couple of rounds behind Edwards, but instead the team chose integrity over fixing the outcome. And bare in mind, both cars have the same major sponsor and is owned by the same person, so had they fix the race, no one would have gotten hurt, Whereas earlier Force not only was dishonest with the fans, but sacrificed his “Castrol” sponsored car so his “AAA” sponsored car could win. I’ll grant you Jason wasn’t that far in the points behind greg to sacrifice his own chances of winning the title and whose to say that later on, one might take a dive for the other as things tighten up, but at least for now u gotta give it to the team for not jerking the fans around

Force didn't jerk the fans around, he did what he had to do to get his car in the Countdown. He couldn't come right out and be "Honest" as you put it, or the run would have been thrown out. The only fans that even care much about it are the hardcore fans like the ones here, and none were fooled for a minute. To any casual fan that was in the stands in Indy, it was just another drag race where one of the two cars got sideways after getting out of the groove, that happens all the time.

Good post James! Kudos to the Summitt duo! This is what should happen 100 percent of the time.

We applaud those who do it and we don't continue to critize those who have done it in the past. As a fan I just ask that after the US Nationals deal the lesson was learned. Race with the integrity in that the driver in the cockpit wants to get the win for his/her crew and fans. Never go into a race with the intent to lose. That's NOT a racer.

Good job!

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Team Summit were in the same position at the last race before the countdown, they would do whatever needed to get both cars in..........................
