Racing Greg Anderson in Monday’s conclusion to the rain-delayed Auto Plus-Fall Nationals, Greg Stanfield’s battle plan included getting a good jump off the Maple Grove Raceway starting line.
Stanfield tried, but the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks Pro Stock GXP rolled through the starting beams too soon and he fouled out in the quarterfinal round. Anderson posted an elapsed time of 6.508 seconds at 212.49 mph.
Inclement weather Sunday halted competition before the Pro Stock contingent could run its second round and the wet stuff Monday caused intermittent stops in the action.
This event ended a three-week run of NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship races and trimmed the number of remaining events to three. Next up is the Arizona Nationals at Phoenix, Oct. 14-16.
