JORDAN STATION, ONTARIO (August 15, 2007) – Carl Spiering is looking forward to this weekend’s Second Annual Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton and his return to the Sanair drag strip near Montreal, Quebec.
“Sanair is rich with Canadian drag racing history,” explained Spiering. “The PMRA event will give us a chance to run with the series regulars and to test our program before the next IHRA event in Milan.”
The Pro Modified Racing Association has had 12 different winners in as many PMRA races in the three-year history of the series.
“We won the first PMRA race in 2005 and went to the final at last year’s event at Sanair before Mother Nature got us,” explained Spiering. “Our plan is to end the streak, put the Eaton Road Warrior in the winner’s circle, and be the first two-time PMRA winner.”
At last year’s event Spiering, of Jordan Station, Ontario, qualified the Eaton Road Warrior number one in the field, and was pitted against fellow PMRA competitor and 2005 champion Joe Lilienthal of Kenmore, New York in front of a large crowd, the final run was called due to rain at the Sanair track.
“It will be a great opportunity for me to spend time with more than 600 Eaton customers, distributors, and employees who will be on hand to watch some great Pro Modified drag racing action.”
Situated just outside of St-Pie, Quebec, the Sanair track is just south of Montreal. This year’s race will be the fourth on the 2007 PMRA Tour.
Qualifying for the Second Annual Eaton PMRA Challenge presented by Eaton will begin Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., 4:15 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. with the eight quickest teams returning for the final eliminations at 7:30 p.m. under the lights on Saturday night at Sanair in St-Pie, Quebec on August 18.

About the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA):
The Pro Modified Racing Association, Pro Modified Racing Association, started late in 2004 and is entering its third year of operation. The PMRA is a self-governing organization, with technical and safety rules as outlined by the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Cars in the PMRA capture the true spirit of hot rodding, and the class is one of drag racing’s most exciting and volatile classes, offering a diverse group of racecars with different types of 2,000-horsepower engines. Combining classic body styles and modern equipment, constructors are permitted, within established rules and parameters, to modify and enhance the cars in both appearance and performance. The cars are fuelled by gasoline or methanol, propelling them down the quarter-mile in low six-second times at over 200 miles per hour. The PMRA provides drag race fans the opportunity to see, hear, and experience the popular Pro Modifieds, known as "the world's fastest door slammers".
