For the seventh consecutive year, SpeedZone Magazine has come up with the perfect Stocking-stuffer just in time for Christmas, and just in time to get you pumped up for the 2007 racing season.
This is the second time we have produced four different calendars in the same year. It is a monumental undertaking, but it is one of the ways we can give back to the racers who are the backbone of Drag Racing. Sportsman racing is very important to SpeedZone Magazine and to many die-hard fans, but the exposure they get seems to be miniscule at best. With these four different calendars (1. Top Alcohol, 2. Pro Mod, 3. Super Stock Hemi and 4. Top Sportsman/Comp eliminator/Doorslammer). We give those racers participating in them exposure World Wide. The calendars are sold in Europe, Australia Mexico and all over North America to fans who like these classes and of course the cars in these classes.
The Top Alcohol calendar for 2007 is perhaps the best ever with 2007 world champ Bill Reichert ripping off another 5.20 pass under the lights. The Legendary “NW Hitter” Bucky Austin is also featured. Division three TAFC three time champ Mick Snyder is along for the ride as well, as is Division Seven TAD champ Chris Demke. Eight other teams including the only Husband/Wife team in the Top Alcohol classes (hint: it is a division six team) are highlighted.
For the Pro Mods, teams from all over North America are part of this year’s production, including a couple top 10 IHRA hitters. Danny Rowe and Carl “Big Dog” Spiering both grace the pages this season. Paul Athey’s newly formed two-car team is featured as are a handful of West Coast Pro Mod top ten participants including WCPM champ Joe Delehay and the first looks at his new awesome ride.
The Hemi’s are back. The most popular calendar four years running is back with a vengeance. Multi-time record holders, “The West Coast Hemi team” is back. Newcomer to the SpeedZone calendar, but veteran of the class, Joey Tueton and the “Southland Flyer” race team is one of the featured cars. Fred Henson is back with his two Hemis as well, including the bright green A/SA Challenger that replaced the yellow one, which burned to the ground last winter at his shop. In all, six new cars are in the Hemi calendar. This one is a must!
The Top Sportsman/ Doorslammer calendar is surely to be a hit. This calendar highlights West Coast teams, and with the introduction of Top Sportsman as stand alone classes in both Division six and seven in 2007, this calendar is a good way to promote the class for the new race season.
All four calendars include complete Divisional schedules, NHRA and IHRA national event schedules.
The Top Sportsman calendar is about a week away for coming out of the printers but the other three are ready for shipping.
