Snyder Looking for Victory in Indy

The Snyder Motorsports Race Team is headed to Indianapolis this weekend for the prestigious U.S. Nationals. The Team, based out of DeMotte, Indiana, is currently sitting in 5th place in the National POWERade points standings and looking to move up this weekend in the highly competitive Top Alcohol Funny Car class. After a semi-final finish at last year's event, the 25 year-old driver is hoping this will be his year to win at the "Big Go".

"There is so much fanfare and hype surrounding this event each year. Even though there are 23 national events on the NHRA POWERade schedule, Indianapolis is the racing capital of the world and that makes this one special. We had a pretty good showing at this event last year; hopefully this year we will be able to improve on that and get this Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car in the winner's circle Monday afternoon," Snyder stated.

Snyder and the Team are returning to the site that first inspired Larry and Mick to get into Jr. Dragster racing about 15 years ago. The exhibition show during the U.S. Nationals all those years ago proved to be the beginning of a career for Mick and eventually a successful business for Larry. With some additional support coming on board from Goodson, they are hoping they will be able to put their car in the winner's circle on Monday.

"We are really excited about Goodson coming on board. The partnership with Snyder Motorsports will be good for both our companies as we continue to expand in the racing industry. Maybe we will be able to come away with one here for Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels and all of our great associate sponsors."

The Team will receive 4 qualifying shots during the event. The first will come on Thursday at 2:30 PM and two more will be held Friday at noon and 4:30 PM. On Saturday, their final shot to get into the field will be at 11 AM. Sunday morning at 10 AM, the Team will head to the staging lanes for first round of eliminations. Eliminations will continue on Monday until the champion is crowned that afternoon.
