Shirley's teaser

Shirley says she has deal in progress involving Erica Enders. Shirley going Gas or is Erica going Nitro?

Did she slight Doug Kalitta when she was in the booth during top fuel ?
I could swear she called him a mediocre driver.

yeah it seemed to be a swipe, then a couple of times she wouldn't even refer to Connie by name when talking anout 82 Indy a few times.

She did say a deal was in the works with Erica, who knows

Unlike some here, I have no beef with Shirley, but it does seem that she is always this ---><---- close to a deal. Wake me up when the car is wrapped in sponsor colors and in the staging lanes.

I don't know, Shirley has a tough time being gracious. It seemed obvious, she didn't want to say anything nice about the Kalittas.

Re: "All those opportunities she sifts through on a daily basis" sounded a lot like Donald Trump.

Get the deal signed, sealed and delivered - THEN - talk about it.
You have to wonder how/if Erica wants the "cat out of the bag" before anything is locked in.......

I think she referred to Doug as being lucky.

The beginning of Shirley's comment was "Doug, not being one of the best drivers out there but he is one of the luckiest"

They always say I'd rather be lucky than good. So I guess Doug is lucky that he IS one of the best drivers out there. My opinion.

I think Shirley would be alot closer to deals if she would get over the bitter/negative comments. Once again my opinion.

How ironic that a Kalitta car won on the day that Shirley was the legendary starter :)

Yeah, real lucky. Criminy, I first heard of Doug Kalitta when he was winning roundy-round car races. Guess he was lucky there too......

Re: Jeff, John O and Connie's win --- KARMA!:p

Who really cares what Shirley says,

1 She was a great driver
2 She endured some hardships to achieve what she did.
And
3 Her time has come and gone, Smile for the Cameras, Say nice things Or Shut Up and Go home

she was pullin' for wilk........thought i heard her say 'damn' when he lost?

and for those of you that still think paul page is somehow new to drag racing;
how about his 'shirley, do you remember when i interviewed you back
in '77?'

After the deal thats ---><--- close falls thru-and shes done MFing the potential sponsor:cool:, how about a podcast show on RPM2nite's site with Whit?
"The bitter truth with Shirley+Whit." Free+ clear of NHRA, they could spend whole programs burning bridges+ naming names. They could critique the weeks race-and talk about who was lucky-who got stuff handed to them-how NHRA can't prep a track-etc.

On a more serious side, I'm glad an "Owner" (of nothing presently AFAIK) is doing the searching for sponsors-although I feel the day is over that you can just go out + sell a potential team-just because there are girls involved. I think the bought ride genie is out of the bottle for good.
