There was lots of anticipation in the pro mod pits during the US Nationals in Indy. Scott Ray arrived Thursday ready to debut the brand new ‘53 Corvette built by Andy McCoy Race Cars. The car was completed a month ahead of schedule and only hours before Scott’s departure for the “Big Go”.
With Friday’s first round of qualifying cancelled, Scott would have fewer attempts to get into the field for an event in which he has never qualified. On Scott’s first full pass, the car shot straight down the groove producing a new Career Best 6.07 @ 233 mph (60ft – 1.00, 1/8th-3.98@187mph). Scott’s previous Career Best was a 6.20 @ 230mph.
Andy McCoy stated, “I knew we could build a quality race car on time and at a reasonable price. I appreciate Stan and Scott’s trust in our chassis shop. ” Andy McCoy would like to thank Jeff Hoskins for an awesome paint job, 1320 MEDiA for emblem and grill ecals, along with Scott, Stan, Jim and Dennis for all their help completing this car on time.
