(10-22-08) KEMP, Tx – After almost three seasons away from ADRL competition, Clyde Scott, driver of the TMW Racing ’63 Corvette is looking forward to returning to the series. In their last outing with the ADRL, TMW helped seal the win for Texas in the Texas vs. USA shootout at the 2005 World Finals in Kennedale, Tx.
Today is a new day and with the latest equipment the team sees a good opportunity to create a good start for the 2009 season. “The last two times we ran ADRL, we ran very well considering a lot of the gear we had was outdated. We are a team that races to win. We made sure that if we’re going to come to an ADRL race, we have the equipment to be not only competitive, but the tools necessary to win. I think this time we have it,” Scott explained.
The main tool is the G-Force Racecars Corvette, recently acquired by TMW Racing. “I believe this car will compete at a consistent level, and is capable of going fast,” said Scott. “Everything we have is setup to run outlaw style events now, unlike the legal set up we ran before. We haven't just been sitting in the grandstands since we last raced, so I really feel that we will be competitive this weekend in Ennis.”

Although they haven’t had the Corvette very long, they did manage to get a good baseline tune up for the car while running with the Texas Outlaw Pro Modified Association at Houston on October 11th, where they ended up taking the win. “We have a good baseline, definitely enough to qualify, but we don’t race to just qualify. We will have to use the test session and three qualifying attempts to find a competitive set up where we can go rounds on Saturday. It may sound crazy, but I think we can do it,” Clyde commented.
If all goes well for the team, they will have gained a good number of points to start off the 2009 ADRL season. A good start means they won’t have to make up any ground after debuting their new Tommy Mauney-built 1941 Willy’s when the season picks back up next Spring.
