Why would that be an argument FOR the canopy?

Because the canopy is sealed and fire would not be able to get in....real similar to the hyrdo boats (I think the company they worked with makes hydro cockpits). Kind of funny, both Tony and Don used the incident as a sounding board for the canopy. See no reason to keep it out, as long as it's available to all the teams..and the ones that don't want to use it don't have to. I don't think it's a huge advantage, especially if it weights a little more (to offset any aero ET picked up). At any rate, made for great super slow-mo.

That was a major boomer. Even though we all know NHRA has been dragging their feet on approving the canopy, Don handled the PR perfectly by not scolding the NHRA, but gently prodding them towards what should be the obvious decision. Approve the canopy!

Tony's interview was pretty awesome, "we expect these things to blow up from time to time, that's why I wear a firesuit. It's 100 degrees out here, if I could I'd be wearing shorts".....

Even though Tony was magnanimous to Zizzo, he did say "he [Zizzo] did what he had to do to beat the champ". Last I knew, Tony was not the champ and hasn't been in a few years. I hate how cocky he can be sometimes.

As far as that explosion...yeah, it was intense.

hmmm.....I always call a Champion a Champ...perhaps not the current Champ, but still a Champ....Ali will always be the Champ.

Anyway, that explosion was HUGE. You don't really see the Army car blow up like that.

Being personally attacked is not necessary. I'm simply expressing my opinion.

Let's make it clear, yes Tony was the champion for a long time, and now he's not. If people want to call him the champ, that's cool...just like John Force will always be "the champ" to many....my problem is, you don't talk about yourself as "the champ". It's arrogance at it purest.

Champions should be humble, not over-boastful.
