Schnitz Solid in Sonoma

"I think overall we're happy with the way we ran today," said Ryan Schnitz, who sits eighth in the Pro Stock Motorcycle field after day 1 of qualifying for the Fram Autolite Nationals at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

qualifying round 1
8th Ryan Schnitz right lane 7.061 at 189.39 mph

"The .06 was a little squirrely, but the track is really smooth. It's one of my favorites because it is so smooth and such a nice facility,

"We're running with the S&S fuel injection ECU, the same one we started running the last race in Denver. So we had limited data for these weather conditions. We made a slight change in the mapping for the second round and it was a little lean."

qualifying round 2
8th Ryan Schnitz left lane 7.110 at 186.15 mph

"We're excited about our motor program. We've basically been running the same motor for a number of races, but we're gonna try a motor tomorrow that's been promising on the dyno. So we'll see how well it runs.

"Rob's here with his wife Ruby in the motorhome. She's cooking us up a feast every night and making us a little heavy on the bike. It makes this a little more of a personal visit and it makes things a lot easier and the conditions nicer.

"And the crew's doing a great job. Kurt, Rob, Dad and Sid are all doing a great job and we should do really well tomorrow."

Schnitz thanked Trim-Tex Drywall Products, Muzzy's, Schnitz Racing, Bates Leathers and NGK.
