Memphis, TN (8/19/06) -- Ryan Schnitz stayed solidly qualified mid-pack on the Trim-Tex/Muzzy's Buell for the NHRA O'Reilly Midsouth Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park.
qualifying round 2
10th left Lane Ryan Schnitz 7.167 at 183.67 mph
qualifying round 3
10th right Lane Ryan Schnitz 7.226 at 184.09 mph
best pass 7.156
"We always try to look at the positive things, and in the second round we had the third quickest pass for our lane," said Schnitz. "In the third round we were the fourth fastest for our lane. We're not the quickest motorcycle out here, but we're consistent, and a consistent motorcycle and good, green lights can go rounds.
"We chipped a tooth on the transmission drive gear on the last pass, so we're replacing the crankshaft drive gear.
"We're just kinda going back to basics like we did at our test session in St. Louis. We seem to have our consistency back and that's always good, so we're looking forward to raceday. It would be good to get to the final because we have both Antron and Angelle on our side of the ladder and that would help us make up some points."
Ryan's had two redlight starts against first round opponent G. T. Tonglet, but bested G.T. in the only race where both riders got a clean start.
Schnitz thanked Trim-Tex Drywall Products, Muzzy's, Schnitz Racing, Bates Leathers and NGK.
