I want to nominate Steve Matusek's BB/AT and its other worldly 6.52 219 today on a questionable right lane today. It left soft and by 330 you would have sworn he had a JATO hidden on the thing.

Another perfect day eating Hot Dog On A Stick, working on the tan and watching comp. It really is about as good as it gets.

I still vote for either Jirka Kaplan's 6.06@225 in Vegas in AA/AM or Larry McBride's 5.74 last week in Valdosta.

I nominate Robert Hight, 1st round at Englishtown:

23.372 seconds at 73.14 mph, with teary eyes and broken hearts watching

Wow, I guess there's "runs of the year" in every class! Another one I'd have to nominate was the 1st official thousand-footer by Tommy Johnson Jr., Friday night at Bandimere Speedway 4.434/263.15. I was loitering in the staging lanes behind the tower and electricity was truly in the air. Everyone stopped what they were doing for that run.

Hights run yes
Kaplans run yes
Mcbrides run yes

And ill add Kory Hogans 250.97!!! mph run at the AMA Dragbike race in Norwalk to that list.

That is a bad hot rod for sure. Here is a linnk to a onboard camera in this car:

My personal favorite run of the year was watching my teammate Al Ackerman get his first national event win at his home track of Englishtown. It was a long time coming, but truly deserved. BTW, that win was the only time Arnie Martel lost in a final this year.

Sorry Dave, LODRS 7-7 - Competition Eliminator Final, Round 5 Eliminations

It was the only national event final he lost all year. Would have liked to have been there for that one. Hopefully next year I can make it to some races.
